New Year Re-resolution!

Yeah, the holidays are really over. It's back to the daily grind. You work all day, then rush home so that you can pick up the kids for whatever practice is scheduled for that day, snatching a burger and fries somewhere along the way. When you finally get home, you try to get all the housekeeping chores done before you collapse in front of the TV and join the kids with a bag of chips and a soda. You're exhausted. You wonder how you could ever squeeze any more time or energy out of your day for a workout.

How many times have you heard an infomercial claim that its diet or exercise program was "easy?" Yeah, right. If you've ever tried one of these gimmicks, you've discovered that either they are NOT easy, or that they don't work. Beware of any diet or exercise program that claims to be easy.

If you want good health, for now and in the future, you have to commit to working at it. It has to become as much a part of your life as brushing your teeth or mowing the lawn. It has to become a habit.

Women used to shy away from sweaty gyms full of iron-pumping behemoths, but now most fitness facilities are equipped with women in mind. And far from the "meat-market" mentality of earlier gyms, most fitness businesses today cater to people of all ages and fitness levels. The fitness industry recognizes that EVERYBODY needs to stay fit, not just the already-gorgeous. The perfect bodies you see in the gym are the result of years of training (unless they're 17 years old). No body is magically perfect; it requires work.

If your New Year's resolutions are starting to unravel, now is the time to recommit. You can do it!
